AGRA ISSUES IT’S 10THSOCIAL REPORT
Published: 17 Mar 2017
Agra Limited proudly issued its tenth social report, sharing its inputs and involvement as corporate social citizen in Namibia. This report shows that Agra contributed to a wide range of communities and initiatives in the categories of knowledge and skills development; support to organised agriculture; agronomy and horticulture; livestock and Swakara.
As a diverse business with a very broad client base, Agra also supported a variety of projects in diverse communities such as equestrian events; women’s associations; schools; the veterinary fraternity; outdoor adventure events and much more. Through the Auas Valley Shopping Mall, the largest entity in Agra’s property portfolio, Agra also contributed to local organisations and schools in the surrounding areas. As a company rooted in its people, Agra also reports on its inputs in its personnel.
“Agra supports initiatives that improve the quality of life. We believe that sustainable development can only take place if we re-invest in the communities we do business with and beyond. Agra’s corporate social involvement concentrates on the initiatives of sustainable resource utilisation, transfer of knowledge and skills in the agricultural sector in an effort to improve on productivity and business success, and social activities that enhance the living standards of communities”, said Agra’s Officer: Sponsorships and Promotions, Christo van Wyk, in the foreword of the report.
Agra’s CEO, Arnold Klein expressed his gratitude towards the staff members and loyal supporters of Agra for the part they play in making Agra’s corporate social involvement possible and successful. “Agra serves communities country wide, and our staff members are our arms and legs out in the field. Without their inputs in sponsored events and initiatives in their regions, Agra would not have been able to support communities as far as Rundu in the north and Karasburg in the south”, Arnold Klein said and added: “Without the continuous support of Agra’s customers, we would not have been able to grow to the extend we have been growing the past years, and would not have been able to plough back into the communities to the extend we have done as reported annually over the past ten years.”
