INTRODUCTORY TRAINING: FARM MANAGEMENT FOR LIVESTOCK FARMERS

Our Introduction to Farm Management course teaches farmers and future farmers’ basic financial management skills, e.g. how to create and follow a business plan and how to create activity lists for each discipline on the farm.
Included are the following:
- Vision, mission, goals and objectives for the farm;
- Basic livestock husbandry programme with input and output costs for business plan;
- Rangeland management plan;
- Infrastructure cost required for farming;
- Labour requirements;
- Record-keeping.
Course participants will prepare a business plan as outcome for training. Through this course, participants will learn to analyse, diagnose and make decisions related to management of a farm business.
Excel templates are available to course participants at an additional cost.
