This Potato Production Course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to successfully produce potatoes under Namibian conditions. The course covers the entire potato production cycle, including site selection, soil and fertility management, seed potato selection and handling, irrigation management, crop establishment, pest, disease and weed control, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), harvesting, post-harvest handling and farm business management. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of potato nutrient and water requirements, fertiliser application methods, and sustainable production practices, enabling one to improve productivity, maintain crop quality and enhance farm profitability. Upon completion, participants will be equipped to plan, establish, manage and market a successful potato enterprise.
