Agra shows Positive Financial Results

 Agra Limited and subsidiaries published its consolidated Annual Financial Statements, as on 31 July 2017. In the report, Chief Executive Officer, Arnold Klein stated that the financial year under review had its challenges with the down turn in the Namibian economy and the severe drought conditions which continued in the southern and western parts of the country. Export restrictions for livestock on the hoof to the Republic of South Africa continued into November 2016. As a result, large stock sales to South Africa came to a stand-still for the first few months of the period under review.

“However, we embraced the challenges and opportunities we were faced with during the year under review and we are grateful to have again achieved excellent financial results,” said Arnold.
“We are excited about the opportunities that exists within the Agricultural sector to create a broader market and thus increasing the contribution towards the GDP. Agra therefor remains focussed to improve the business environment, provide training to staff and producers, be active within communities to improve quality of life and to support producers to produce optimally,” said Ryno van der Merwe, Chairman of Agra’s Board of Directors.
