Karakul Pelt Centre

At the AGRA pelt sorting centre, pelts are graded and prepared for auction in Denmark. Graded pelts are sold bi- annually (April and September) at Kopenhagen Fur under the trade name of SWAKARA.

The majority of pelts produced in Namibia are black. Grey, white and brown pelts comprise 5% of total production. Grey pelts are sold annually in September, while brown pelts are sold per private contract.

The registered office of the Karakul Board of Namibia is located at the AGRA Pelt Centre.
